The elephant
is modeled in the shape of looking back. It is glazed in straw-colored
enamel, and its hair is clearly seen. On its V-shaped saddle a gourd-shaped
vase in cloisonné enamel is carried. The object is a commonly seen
ornamental ware in the royal palace. The elephant is a symbol of
the peaceful piping times, and the elephant with a vase in the back
implies a peaceful world.
